Privacy notice
This notice explains how we handle your personal information. It reflects UK GDPR principles and we keep it under review as the service grows.
Who we are
Cosy Cat Visits (Lisa and Neil McRae), based in Heath, Wakefield, WF1, is the data controller for the personal information described here. If you have any questions about your data, please contact us.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us (name, email, telephone, address).
- Information about your cats and their care needs.
- Emergency and veterinary contact details you provide.
- Records of your enquiries, requests and visits.
We aim to collect only what we need. Sensitive home-access information (such as keys or access codes) is arranged and handled separately and securely — never stored in ordinary notes or form fields.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To respond to your enquiries and requests (our legitimate interests / steps to enter a contract).
- To provide the care you have agreed (performance of a contract).
- To send service messages about your visits (contract / legitimate interests).
- To send marketing only where you have given consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet any legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
You have rights under UK GDPR including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. You can ask us to action any of these, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Photos of your cats
Photos we take during visits are kept private and shared only with you, unless you separately and explicitly consent to us using a photo for marketing. These are treated as two entirely different things.
